Custom Sound Recognition
iOS has had a handy noise detection feature for quiete a few years now where you could let the iPhone alert you to things happening in your surroundings (like fire alarms, door knocks, doorbell ringing, …)
This morning while enabling the feature because I was expecting a delivery, while being desk-bound with a headset, I discovered a new iOS feature1:
You can train your own sounds to detect!
For this to be set up you go to > Accessibility > Sound Recognition > Sounds and then either select Custom Alarm or Custom Appliance or Doorbell.
There you can start training the phone to listen to this specific sound signature.

It is at least present on iOS 17.6 ↩
