While moving clutter around my desk I often accidentally actuate the backlight cycle button in the upper right of my Keychron Keyboard and then it moves in a light pattern until I press it again until the light is permanently on again.

This had been an annoyance with my old Keychron K2 and again with my K3 version 3. But now there is an easy way to permanently change the layout using their Launcher Webapp.

It only works for Chromium-based browsers (because it directly communicates via WebUSB API), but Chrome will always be just a download away.

Using the software I now have swapped the Backlight Toggle and Backlight Cycle keys. Pressing the button now turns the backlight on or off, and Fn+Backlight cycles through the light modes, but it is far more unlikely that I trigger that combination accidentally.

You can find the configuration for the ANSI layout here.
